Electricity generation using solar photovoltaic technology
Construction and operation of electricity generation facilities that produce electricity using solar photovoltaic (PV) technology.
Substantial Contribution to Climate Change Mitigation
The activity generates electricity using solar photovoltaic technology. Life-cycle GHG emissions from the generation of electricity from solar PV are lower than 100 gCO2e/kWh, calculated in accordance with the methodology provided in Recommendation 2013/179/EU or, alternatively, using ISO 14067:2018 or ISO 14064-1:2018.
Where a life-cycle GHG emissions assessment is conducted, the results are communicated to investors and clients on demand. Life-cycle GHG emissions are calculated using Commission Recommendation 2013/179/EU or, alternatively, using ISO 14067:2018, ISO 14064-1:2018, or a GHG accounting tool approved by the Commission. Quantified life-cycle GHG emissions are verified by an independent third party.
DNSH: Climate Change Adaptation
The activity complies with the criteria set out in Appendix A of the Delegated Act. A robust climate risk and vulnerability assessment has been performed, proportionate to the scale of the activity, identifying material physical climate risks and implementing adaptation solutions that reduce those risks.
DNSH: Water and Marine Resources
The activity does not lead to the deterioration of the good status of bodies of water, including surface water and groundwater, and does not hamper the achievement of good status as required under Directive 2000/60/EC. Environmental degradation risks related to preserving water quality and avoiding water stress are identified and addressed.
DNSH: Circular Economy
The activity assesses the availability of and, where feasible, adopts techniques that support reuse and use of secondary raw materials and reusable components in products manufactured. Equipment used is designed for high durability, recyclability, and ease of disassembly and refurbishment, in accordance with waste management provisions of Directive 2012/19/EU.
DNSH: Pollution Prevention
The activity does not lead to the manufacture, placing on the market, or use of substances listed in Annex I or II of Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants, Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), or other substances of very high concern. The activity complies with the Industrial Emissions Directive 2010/75/EU where applicable.
